Story Of Siren Tamil Movie :-
As the movie begins, we are introduced to a 14-year-old girl who reveals that her father is incarcerated and she has had no relationship with him. And who is her father? Meet Thilagan (Jayam Ravi), who hasn’t communicated with his daughter for 14 years and is serving time for an alleged murder. Despite repeated offers from the parole board to visit his child and family, Thilagan refuses to leave jail for 14 years. Suddenly, he becomes desperate to reconnect with his daughter and decides to take a two-week parole to visit his home.
Switching to a parallel storyline, we encounter Police Inspector Nandini (played by Keerthy Suresh), who finds herself suspended over accusations of killing someone. Despite vehemently denying the allegations, she faces a challenging period. However, fortune favors her as the post-mortem examination aligns with her narrative, clearing her of any wrongdoing. With her innocence proven, Nandini is reinstated into the police force and assumes the position of leading the station. Interestingly, this is the same station where Thilagan must report daily during his parole period.
Meanwhile, police constable Velankanni (portrayed by Yogi Babu) is assigned to keep a close watch on Thilagan 24/7 during his parole. Suddenly, a string of murders shakes the town, casting suspicion on Thilagan. Are both Thilagan and Nandini genuinely free from any wrongdoing? What happened to Thilagan’s wife (Anupama Parameswaran)? What lies behind these murders?

Director Antony Bhagyaraj, who also penned the screenplay, attempts to blend a thriller with themes of father-daughter sentiment and revenge drama in this film. The movie seems deliberately divided into two halves, with the first half focusing heavily on establishing Thilagan’s love for his daughter and his desperate longing for her affection. The second half transitions into the realm of revenge drama.
However, does this approach succeed? The first half of the film moves at a sluggish pace, and despite efforts to evoke audience empathy and emotional connection through the father-daughter narrative, it falls short. Nandini’s storyline feels somewhat exaggerated and unrealistic, while the antagonists lack depth. Although the second half shows slight improvement, overall, the plot feels like recycled material lacking in novelty. Several scenes seem forced, included solely to propel the plot forward.

When it comes to the performances, Jayam Ravi takes on the role of both a younger and older Thilagan, with the latter sporting gray hair and beard, and he opts for a restrained portrayal. His controlled performance as both a convict and a father is a departure from his recent roles. Keerthy Suresh’s character is more serious and somewhat one-dimensional – she repeatedly denies any involvement in the alleged killing and maintains the same expression throughout most of the film. Yogi Babu provides comic relief and delivers what’s expected of him.
GV Prakash Kumar handles the music and songs, and they are standard fare for the genre.
Overall, “Siren” leans too heavily on melodrama for a crime thriller and falls short of expectations as a passable time-filler.
