“Thalapathy 67” is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The screenplay was co-written by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Rathna Kumar, and Deeraj Vaidy.
Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio, with Jagadish Palanisamy as co-producer.
The film stars Vijay in the titular role, alongside Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mysskin.

Initially, Vijay was inclined to focus on satisfying the Tamil audience and was hesitant to make “Thalapathy 67” a pan-Indian film. Nonetheless, he changed his mind after being convinced by the producers, Lalit and Jagadish.

In August 2023, it was confirmed that “Leo” would be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, signifying its connection with the franchise’s previous films, facilitated by a no objection certificate signed by the film’s makers.
